Born on December 2, 1981, in Kentwood, Louisiana, the teen-pop bombshell Britney Spears shot to the top of the charts for the first time with the playful single and naughty Catholic school-girl video “…Baby One More Time,” the title track from her 1999 debut album.
Britney went on to fill the void of solo girl-pop juggernauts since Madonna’s takeover in the mid-’80s. At age 11, Spears got her start singing and dancing, along with ’N Sync members Justin Timberlake and J.C. Chasez and Christina Aguilera, on the Disney Channel’s The All New Mickey Mouse Club.
